Jose M. Net, MD is an Associate Professor of Clinical Radiology for The University of Miami, Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine where he presently serves as Vice Chair of Clinical Operations and Director of Breast Imaging. Jose’s main academic interests are centered around improving the patient experience; through his work on the SBI Patient Care and Delivery Committee, he has collaborated to develop impactful guidance on managing patients on anticoagulation and how to optimize the breast imaging experience for women with disabilities, presented here. Jose’s research interests include radiomics and influence on artificial intelligence, performance of digital breast tomosynthesis, synthetic mammography, and contrast enhanced mammography, impact of MRI on early-stage breast cancer, bio-determinants of breast cancer, and novel breast cancer treatment protocols. Jose’s clinical work is wholly dedicated to breast imaging, he serves as an active member of the breast site disease group for the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, and presently oversees 15 faculty and staff at various practice sites with diverse care delivery models. Since graduating from University of Miami/Jackson Memorial’s residency program and upon return from completing his Oncologic Imaging fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Jose has remained deeply engaged in housestaff and medical student education, he has served as both assistant program director for the residency and as the breast imaging fellowship director. Through his time on faculty, he has contributed to the development of the breast imaging curriculum and collaborates with multidisciplinary specialties to ensure well rounded educational experience for trainees.
