Resident/Dr
University of Washington
I am Elham Taheri. MD radiologist from Tehran University of Medical Sciences. Currently, I am on the alternative pathway, starting with a nuclear medicine residency at the University of Washington in Seattle, USA.
I have always had a great passion for breast imaging and promoting women's health since the start of medical school and later during my radiology residency back in my country. I have worked on multiple research projects back in Iran and later when I was at the University of Virginia on different topics of breast imaging. My goal is to promote the quality of our diagnostic imaging tools and increase the accuracy of detection of breast cancers in the very early stages.
Learning the usage of different radiotracers in PET-CT, PET-MRI, and PET mammography during my nuclear medicine residency has helped me think about new areas of improvement for diagnosing early stages of breast cancer in the future. Furthermore, I am learning about the utility of different breast imaging modalities such as MRI for assessing treatment efficacy and the unique considerations in different breast cancer subtypes.
