Review from the podium of a selection of real-world breast MRI cases demonstrating benign and suspicious findings. Cases will be presented in question/answer format and review topics including finding characterization, finding assessment, and case management with review of BI-RADS terms and recommendations. Axillary findings will also be included.
The Pre-Course: Practical Tips for Breast MRI, a Case-Based Review presentation slides are not available for attendees to download.
Learning Objectives:
Identification of common benign findings on breast MRI in real-life case format, including review of definitively benign characteristics so that biopsy can be avoided.
Case examples of characterization of suspicious findings on breast MRI using appropriate BI-RADS terminology leading to appropriate management recommendations, including cases of suspicious finding assessment without delayed temporal kinetics (abbreviated MRI).
Description and case demonstration of breast MRI "pearls", including how to avoid biopsy of findings that can be confidently assessed as benign and how to identify and avoid common pitfalls in breast MRI performance and interpretation with real-life examples.
