Buildling upon the finding detection and characterization described in the first Interpretation session, this session will review the use of finding characteristics to assign an appropriate BI-RADS assessment category. Appropriate recommendations based on the clinical scenario and BI-RADS assessment category will be described, including BI-RADS 3, biopsy recommendations, the use of targeted ultrasound, and recommendations for management of the breast and axillary lymph nodes in the staging/extent of disease clinical setting. Reporting recommendations will also be reviewed.
The Pre-Course: Practical Tips for Breast MRI, a Case-Based Review presentation slides are not available for attendees to download.
Learning Objectives:
Use the BI-RADS lexicon morphologic and temporal enhancement kinetic descriptors for individual findings to arrive at the appropriate BI-RADS assessment category.
Demonstrate the appropriate management recommendation for each BI-RADS assessment category, including BI-RADS 3 imaging follow-up protocols, biopsy recommendations, and post-surgical and post-neoadjuvant therapy patients..
Construct a report describing next steps in management for additional findings and axillary lymph node management in staging and extent of disease patients.
