This session is directed at technologists, residents, and breast imaging fellows. We will cover normal breast anatomy and the fundamental techniques for the acquisition of high-quality breast ultrasound images, in addition to proper reporting using the ACR BI-RADS descriptors. We will discuss how to select from a wide variety of ultrasound biopsy markers and localization devices for specific clinical scenarios. Lastly, we will describe the new reimbursement challenge for screening breast ultrasound and explore different strategies to continue provide supplemental screening.

Describe the breast anatomy and ultrasound findings using the ACR BI-RADS nomenclature
Review pitfalls of breast ultrasound techniques and provide tips to overcome them.
Understand the CMS reimbursement changes to screening breast ultrasound and how to navigate the new challenge
